style or invisible. Best of all, they require no ads to be displayed on your
page.
- Siteflow Free Counters -
Fast-growing free counter site that offers several options, such as ignoring
your own hits to your site, as well as making your counter invisible. Setting
up the counter is a straightforward two-part process. The free service is
available only to sites that get no more than 500 hits a day. They also limit
you to one counter per site. We've had a few complaints from visitors that
their counter doesn't always load and their site isn't always accessible.
- Web Wizards Counter
- Here's the deal: you display Web Wizards' 412-by-107 pixels banner on your
site and they'll give you a free, reliable counter. Lots of stats, including
page hits for the last 24 hours; the last seven days; total page hits per
hour; total page hits by day & month; and page hits by nation. You also
get stats on your last 100 visitors. And for your counter itself, they offer
a nice selection of digits.

banner that you display with the free version.

are available. No porn or "inappropriate" sites allowed.
- eXTReMe Tracking
- This (mostly) wonderful service from the Netherlands (in English) has every
stat you could ask for, intelligently broken down by category. This JavaScript-enhanced
tracker offers you loads of information. You get totals by Web site, search
engine, E-mail, Usenet, etc. and even can find out what keywords your visitors
used to locate you! See a sample of their stats here.
The only problem we have with this service is its customer support. Some of
our visitors have complained about not getting assistance or responses to
their questions.
- NedStat - Solid free tracker with
all kinds of detailed stats, including what page referred your visitors to
you---a essential feature that's very rare among free tracking services. NedStat
is now also offering two-week trial periods for its more advanced and detailed
NedStat Pro. NedStat also offers a version in Dutch. Our only
complaint: the service is down from time to time.
- Ultimate Counter - This is an easy-to-set
up counter that offers a random font, so your visitors will see a different
style every time they visit your site. This service also offers a clock that
you may place on your page and set to your own time zone. You must display
a banner in order to use the free version of this service.
- MnetWeb Free Page Counters
- We've been hearing good things from our visitors about this page counter
that you can personalize and customize to your liking. This service offers
over 40 options to customize your counter. All images have transparent backgrounds
to coordinate with your page background easier. Many of the images are animated
(and pretty cool looking!).
- IMChat Access
Counter Service - Here's an interesting counter with a new twist: it allows
you to view how many people are looking at your page(s). If someone goes to
your page while you are viewing it, the counter will be bumped up one number.
If that person leaves, the counter will be decreased. All this happens live.
(Note: this application is incompatible with MSIE 4).
- IPStat - This tracking service disappeared

up whatever pages you want and then they'll be ranked by impressions in the
category of your choice. You can then view that page's stats and get such
useful information such as forecasts on how many hits you can expect that
day. This cool service is also useful for getting more hits, as other surfers
who browse the list will click in from time to time.

maintains an historical utilization and performance database for your Web
site, and generates a comprehensive set of management and technical reports

paste some HTML and make minor modifications and you're all set. Note: you
can't use this on an X-rated site, use this service
instead.
- WebTracker - This major
free service offers a number of goodies. You get data on what browser your
visitors are using, the operating system they're running, and you can tell
if they're repeat visitors. You can also find out what days of the week are
hot and find out what time of the day visitors come to your site. WebTracker
